About me

Hey! I’m Kristine. In 2016 I set up the @restoringlansdowne Instagram account to document extensive renovations to the Victorian house I shared with my husband and two mischievous cats.

Over 6 years we transformed the property to create a beautiful, functional home that married original period features with a unique, modern-vintage design aesthetic and practical creature comforts. Goodbye shag carpets and magnolia gloss, and good riddance. Then my little social media seedling grew and grew.

Now with over 47k followers on Instagram, my designs have appeared in Grazia, Modern Home, Ideal Home and Style at Home magazines, Evening Standard Homes & Property, Buzzfeed, Hunker, Sheerluxe and leading interiors blogs in the UK and abroad. I contribute to interiors publications and have appeared at the Ideal Home Show and on BBC Radio as an expert on DIY, renovations and the Instagram interiors boom.

Launched in 2018, my interior design consultancy Restoring Lansdowne Interiors provides design and styling services across the UK through bespoke online design packages. I specialise in modern vintage style – ultra cool and sophisticated spaces with a blend of clean lined contemporary, stand-out vintage pieces and edgy industrial, scandinavian and luxe influences. Never over-designed or stuffy, always fit for actually living in.

January 2020 saw the arrival of our first baby, Juniper, followed swiftly by a global pandemic. In amongst the covid madness we saw an opportunity to up sticks and move to the Suffolk countryside, where we’re now renovating a Georgian country house complete with walled gardens and an old orchard. Watch this space - this is the project of a lifetime (literally, it’s going to take that long).

You can find out more about me on the blog…including why my accent is weird.
